Art in the Park (after the Dunwoody Dash)

Opening Reception October 15th, 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

Join us on October 15th for our inaugural Art in the Park event, “Hoos in the Forest,” sponsored by Oldcastle, Inc. This event will feature the whimsical creations of artist Salley McInerney who uses naturally found materials to create approximately 20 “creatures” that will be on display throughout the trails and in the meadow of Dunwoody Park.

The opening reception will begin with a 10:00 a.m. artist’s talk, followed by a creature tour; docent led tour, creature and creature cabin building workshops, as well as a “poetry on demand” component. Lunch and beverages for the reception will be provided by Village Burger.

To help tie in to the installation, which runs through November 15th, visitors will be encouraged to share their pictures on social media using the hashtag #hoosintheforest. Visitors will also be able to vote on their favorite creature, either in person or through social media, and one lucky winner will receive a free two year membership to the Nature Center.
