Austin Gives Big! Austin Gives Big!
Student Council representatives at Austin Elementary began their annual food drive on October 30, 2017. All of the non-perishable food donated will be collected for the Community Assistance Center. The CAC provides food to individuals and families in need who live in the Dunwoody/Sandy Springs area.

The second annual Austin Eagle Bowl is set for Friday December 15th from 1-2:15PM. The Austin Eagle Bowl flag football tournament features 24 teams from 4th and 5th grade. This cross-curricular, school wide event combines elements from Art, Music, PE, and STEM. 
Austin Rocks! Austin Rocks!
Our partner, The Dunwoody Nature Center (DNC) hosted Dunwoody Rocks, a 25th anniversary celebration on Saturday, October 28th! Austin showed support of the Nature Center by creating an Austin rock representing our school! DNC collected more than 300 rocks for a creation of the public art display. The rocks will remain in place through the end of Thanksgiving week.

One Step Closer to a New Facility... One Step Closer to a New Facility...
Nina Arnold, Austin PTO Co-President, Ann Culbreath, Principal, and Christy Kramer, School Council member and Art teacher attended a going away party on Saturday, October 21st at the Dunwoody Senior Ball Fields.  This will be the new site of Austin Elementary.  A groundbreaking ceremony is being scheduled for November.  The new building will be occupied in Fall 2019. Extended-Day Schedule to Continue until Nov. 30th Extended-Day Schedule to Continue until Nov. 30th
Due to the extended school day from Oct. 2- Oct. 30 Nov. 30,  we will adjust our dismissal schedule.   We will begin dismissal at 2:25 with our buses.  Students will arrive home by 2:45-2:55 each day.  Carpool will begin at 2:35-2:40 each day.  In addition, students will also attend November 7 as a regular school day.

Please note that we will follow our normal dismissal schedule on Tuesday, Oct. 31st.
